
Scotland and Medicine Conference 2023

The Scotland & Medicine partnership have organised a conference aimed at heritage professionals working with medical collections. It will centre on some of the most pressing topics facing Scottish medical collections across museums, libraries and archives. Members of Scotland & Medicine and invited speakers will present case studies on topics such as sensitive collections, hazardous materials, silenced voices and outreach. Laurie Britton Newell, Senior Curator at the Wellcome Collection, will give a keynote address. The conference is funded by Scotland and Medicine and is free to attend. It will be hosted at The Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh with tea and coffee on arrival and lunch provided.
This event is intended principally for heritage professionals working in museums, archives, and libraries but other medical historians and interested researchers are also welcome.
